Crown Cover

No more cracks or water infiltration through the top of your chimney! The installation of a metal crown cover, joint less on the top, will definitely stop water from damaging the concrete, bricks and interior components of your chimney. Damage caused by water infiltration through the chimney can even reach the ceilings and interior walls of your home.

Many bricks chimneys were not built as peer to the requirement of the code by not having a proper cement crown on top. The damage will normally appear up close after 5-10years but real noticeable damage will be visible after 25years. By installing a crown cover it will allow the water to drip away from the bricks, protect them and stop the cracks from taking expansion. This will save you thousand of dollar in masonry repair.

The crown covers are custom made to fit over the existing cement crown or aluminum box. Galvalume, is the most frequently used material, it is a mix of thick aluminum and galvanized steel alloy factory painted. With a modern and simple design, they are available in many colours to match your shingles or exterior sheeting. They can also be made of stainless steel or copper.

Our crown covers are warranty for 15years for the Galvalum and cover by a lifetime warranty for stainless steel and copper.

Chimney Cap

The top of your chimney might be out of your sight but it is possible that the inside of your chimney is completly vulnerable to the nature threat.

A chimney that is not protected with a good cap will allow birds and critters to come in. This might lead to a blocage or inside domage to your system. The chimney cap will avoid water, ice and snow to deteriorate your chimney. This will save you a lot of money by prolonging the life time of the inside chimney and fireplace component. The water damage caused by a missing cap will cost 20 to 40 times the price of that cap. The installation of that simple cap will allow you the peace of mind and make you save thousand of dollar in repair cost. Our Gelco stainless steel chimney cap with built-in mesh are simply the best on the market. They are cover by our life time warranty for rust or manufactured and installation default . If it failed to hold on your chimney and flew away within the next appointment we will come back and re-install it properly.

Lock-Top Chimney Damper

The dampers that are broken, not working, or not air tight are a big source of heat lost. If your damper is rusted, missing, or broken, our technician will be able to install a special chimney cap that is top closing damper. The Lock-Top Chimney Damper is like a storm door for your chimney and preventing anything to go in or out while its close – locking the unconditioned air and animals outside, and keeping the expensive heat, and conditioned air inside. You will be saving energy dollars all year-round!

Stainless Steel Liner

All the chimney for wood, gas, and oil need to have air tight liner. The installation of a stainless steel liner will increase the efficiency, the draft and security of the chimney. All the wood insert must have a homologated liner connected since 1992. The liner is providing a new life to the inside of a old chimney that is damage and unsafe to use. It will keep the carbon monoxide and flammable creosote inside the liner so it could not lead to propagation of the danger to the inside house.

The gas and oil appliance will burn cleaner but with lower combustion temperature. The acid gas created will be creating more rust, and condensation to the chimney that will increase the deterioration process.

Our Chimney liner are all equipped with a flashing, expansion collar, chimney cap, with a bird guard. They are all made of 304 stainless steel that will assure a life time durable chimney that is outstanding all the competition. The continuous high precision laser welding will never break even in the worst condition.

All our liner installation are warranty for life time on part and labor. ULC certified and up to code approval S-635 and S-640.

Non-Air Tight Smoke Room Repair

The smoke chamber is the connection between the chimney flue and the fireplace hearth. It is an essential element, acting like a funnel to facilitate the evacuation of combustion gas, and is often neglected when designing and performing fireplace maintenance. If the sweeping is done only from the outside of the chimney, the reversed funnel shape prevents proper cleaning and inspection (the wide part faces the floor, therefore is not accessible from the top).

Drastic temperature changes can create condensation and a premature deterioration of the masonry. Application of high temperature refractory cement on the whole smoke chamber improves not only the efficiency of the chimney air flow, but also greatly increases safety in case of chimney fires since any cracks can leave adjacent combustible materials exposed. The 4 Seasons Chimney Sweeping technicians can advise on the necessity of performing such a repair.

Water Proofing

All masonry chimneys are porous. They absorb water every time it rains or snows or when the furnace creates moisture inside the chimney.

This will lead to damaged liner flue tiles or bricks & mortar joints cracking or eroding. Applying a masonry water seal will protect the life of your chimney by cutting down the water absorption by as much as 85%. This can save you thousands of dollars in future masonry repairs and chimney relining.

Our water sealer is guaranty for 10 years. It will allow the masonry to breathe while it will stop the water from going in.
